Abstract
This study aims to verify how an integrative cognitive training program (ICTP) designed by complementing typical cognitive rehabilitation programs for the aged with dementia influences the improvement of their cognitive function in order to improve cognitive functions and slow down the progress of dementia in the aged with mild dementia. To measure the effects, this author collected data in five areas, orientation, memory, concentration, linguistic competence, and performance, and the data went through Mann-Whitney U analysis by using SPSS 18.0. According to the results of analysis, first, the experimental group treated with the ICTP was previously found to be homogeneous with the control group. Second, the ICTP had significant and positive effects on four cognitive functions. orientation, concentration, linguistic competence, and performance, in the aged with mild dementia. The results of this study imply that to cope with aging society, we need government-level financial as well as institutional support for improving, maintaining, and enhancing cognitive functions in the aged with mild dementia.
